I don't agree with, "Sonicare brushes are more beneficial. " In the end it's all a marketing scheme. Electric toothbrushes are better for patients with arthritis are other joint and bone issues in their hands. A regular toothbrush is just as good if you are brushing for the correct amount of time. As for the baby thing, we're sure fathers kiss their babies and blow on the food, but is understood that moms are more affectionate, and are more likely to do these things. As for the sudden surge in tooth decay with Coke, it was because of the ingredients in Coke. The sugar levels were off the chart, contained and still does contain phosphoric acid, which is what we used in the office to etch enamel. So in teh end I agree with what was initially said.

why are we so phobic of a little common bacteria? Are we so frail nowadays that everything has to be sterilised?

it would do people good if they actually used their heads to think. "Sudden surge of tooth decay when coke was launched". please indicate source for your statistic.

I'm an RDH in Virginia with a BA in Dental Hygiene. The electronic brush fact... I don't fully agree with that, as Sonicare brushes are concerned.
The Fluoride Toxicity fact is only true if "in large amounts" is added after "a fluoride containing toothpaste."
Some studies have suggested that fathers kiss their children too and that they may contribute as well to their childrens' caries. Also, some children put strange objects in their mouths between the ages of zero (0) and two (2) years of age. These things may also contribute to the problem.

Very helpful information. It would do the people good if this information was publicized more vigorously. It could really help to improve lives.
