The proper use of the Miswak is to use a side to side motion rather than up and down to avoid gum damage.

thanks for your comment but about gum recission, it is because the wrong way of using meswak .the same as using tooth brush in a wrong way. really meswak is a wonderful way for cleaning teeth.

Thank you for this unique topic, the miswak has many benefits as you said but may be you can add some info about its natural ingredients that can we use in many dental (or gum) troubles … I heard that it has more than 15 of natural ingredients that can help our teeth, and some labs use it because of that.

Thank you for the article, I loved it!! I am a muslim and use miswaak but I prefer to keep the toothbrush because we are so far from the time of our prophet (saw)and this can lead to wrong using because of lack of information and the like, so, in the end, using both makes the cleansing of the mouth better.

miswak can be replaced by toothbrush for long time is there more benefit of using miswak? does it improve the complexion of skin? can children as young as ten years old also use it?
